A lot to unpack in that image
Souvent pour s'amuser les hommes d'equipage
And it's like talking to a stranger
Can see why Collingwood are paying him so much
This is the same Dermott Brereton that kissed an opponent on the lips and run through the oppositions huddle?

It's pretty stupid. The worst part is it will taint any success if we do have some. Either include our academies as well or get rid of the change, stupid to have 4 teams have academies that are now vastly superior to the other 14 clubs.
Standard AFL though, they'll always do what they can to create inequities in the system...
Afl creating new rules on the fly again. Pinged for deliberate because of "insufficient intent to keep it in"
A quarter later a swans player hand balled the ball and after a few bounces went out. Heppel appealed for deliberate and the umpire said "no you chose not to pick it up".
It could be argued that Heppell made insufficient attempt to keep it in meaning it's deliberate and a Sydney free kick, despite the ball last coming off a swans player
don't give them ideas m8 #killgill
I came here for the Eagles melts and all I got was the Rumbles salt in the wound.

I tried to go ballistic here but Embers mustn't have paid the bills or he shut down RZ like sblack did when the 76ers got done in the playoffs.
It's ridiculous, as a fan I get a sense of deja vu with how often we lose games where we're gassed by partway through the 3rd quarter and can barely hit the scoreboard in the last quarter.
It's always the same, low inside 50 count, hope we're hyper efficient when we get an inside 50 and the opposition are wasteful in front of goal. Kick to boundary to contests, look for a contested mark, free kick or stoppage clearance.
Happened a lot in over recent years:
2016 at home vs Adelaide, 6.5 to scoreless final quarter to lose by 29
2017
Collingwood lost by 8 (5.4 to 1.2 last quarter),
Port lost by 32 (8 goals to 3 last quarter),
GWS lost by 21 (4.3 to 1.1 last quarter)
a couple games against the Dogs we managed to hang on and win kicking 1 goal after HT and 1.2 to 4.5 in the last
2018
Saints 7 goals to 1 final quarter we held on by 10,
Crows kicked 6.6 to 2 goals in the last to come back and win,
North 7 goals to 1 after HT in Tasmania
2019
Brisbane 7 goals to 1 after HT to lose by 44 (scoreless 3rd quarter)
Collingwood 0.1 to 2.6 final quarter lose by 1
0.1 to 4.1 last quarter in semi final loss to Geelong
2020
Loss to GC with 8 goals to 1 after HT
Held on vs GWS with a 1 goal to 4 last quarter
There are several more examples including a few other close games where we've kicked a couple goals and the opposition have come storming home, or games where we're behind already and basically chucked in the towel.
On the contrary, I remember us coming from behind in the 2016 GWS game with Naitanui's goal at the end, along with a couple wins in Adelaide and then of course the premiership![]()
2016 elimination final
Toast kicked the first two and then the flogs kicked the next seven
West Coast players were simply stunned by the onslaught, and their decision making suffered.
Eagles forward Jack Darling should have ended the run of Bulldogs goals when he marked just 15m out from goal.
But with a teammate nearby, Darling decided to play on - only to be tackled immediately by Matt Suckling.

That’s why we call him Jack Clutching....at underage sl00ts
I think being overrun yesterday was completely avoidable. Instead we just played some really dumb footy that set the tone for the last quarter.
Deep in that 3rd when they had kicked 2 in a row to bring it back to about 20 with 4:30 on the clock. McGovern had 4 kick outs from that point and he just flourbagged it to the same contest where it was rebounding back in quicker each time which they ended up kicking another 1.5 to bring it under 10.
All they needed to do was work the ball around with 20m kicks and take a few minutes off the clock and kill momentum to keep it at 20 points in the last change. And funnily enough working the ball around with short kicks is our exact brand of footy. That's where we lost it and a result like that will come back to haunt the club come seasons end.
Didn't watch any of the games today but wowee that top 8 is something else. Carlton, Adelaide, swans and Dees with the latter 2 undefeated
Yep I completely agree. Issue is that there was a distinct lack of leadership and run. We've been in this situation that many times by now we should know how to avoid it.
Without Hurn there to kick in we had no one to control the ball down back. Waterman is generally a good field kick, but he made a bad mistake earlier, playing out of position and in his first game back from injury.
McGovern likes to think he's Matt Suckling, but rarely gets back on the mark He was our captain and him repeatedly kicking long to the boundary demonstrates him misreading the situation. Just shows that without Hurn and Jetta's retirement no ones capable of taking the responsibility of kicking out from defence. Witherden will likely come in now, but thats a hell of a responsibility to assume from day dot.
Our midfield was atrocious too. The dam walls were going to break eventually the way we were playing. Although i have to mention the frees against Ryan for running too far and Allen for "forceful contact below the knees in a manner likely to cause injury" directly leading to goals makes you want to put a hole through the TV.
