I was frustrated with the Yeo selection too off the back of half a WAFL game as his first game in 11 months, but to be honest I look at the WAFL side getting dicked by 10+ goals every week and think there's pretty much fuck all else to come into the senior side.

Part of it is attributable to our injury list, part with the fact we can only use Amateurs to top up the WAFL side rather than retired/delisted ex-West Coast players and part is they're just shit.

Xavier O'Neill has been in and out of the AFL side. Hutchings was finished 2 years ago, has kept breaking down when we pick him and the only role he can successfully play is to tag Sidebottom, but he might come back next week.

We've plucked ex-Sun/Blue Jarrod Garlett from the bush league wilderness and look set to draft him in the mid season draft because we've been unable to find a reliable Rioli replacement.

Melbourne best in the world confirmed.

Brisbane next week should be a great game. It's a shame they have so many injuries. I would probably have them as flag favourites at full strength

Eddie's Victorian commentating in this game got him on the Bombers board no doubt. He is a huge fan. Closet bomber for sure.

We say it every year but Eddie supporting his closest rivals over interstate teams is so embarrassing for him and the pies.

It's like Rumblah openly cheering Everton when/if they ever played a European team because they ain't English

No leadership, particularly in defence. Defence falls into a hole big time when going gets tough.

All these players they picked up and feels like they forgot the defence as a whole. Would have been the team that needed Zac Williams in my opinion

No one outside of Carlton was stupid enough to throw in the midfield minutes Williams was after. St Kilda may be stupid, but they aren't Carlton stupid.

Have no voice left, epic game!

We have found a gem in Luke Edwards- can’t believe how good he was watching him live.

What I like about him the most is that he makes great decisions/ always seems to have plenty of time which is a great sign that he can handle the increase in pace at afl level no issue. Not many kids can come in and have the impact he just did in a game with the pressure that game had in his second game - 27 possessions, finished the game strong & was pivotal at the end.11 possessions & 4 score involvements in the last quarter.

Cheers adelaide for passing on him (Tyson’s son) - we have a young mid here that was a bargain pick.

He stays in long term no problems for mine even with Kelly & Shuey back … hell, he was much better than Gaff tonight who was crap.

I was absolutely losing my shit

What a game, wholeheartedly agree our best win since 2018.

Good to see they're finally leaving big Nic out there to do his thing instead of sending him to the bench every 6 minutes. Pretty sure he only had 1 brief spell on the bench in that last quarter.

Luke Edwards, I thought that kid must have had some tickets on himself/early guarantee from a club to tell the Crows not to draft him. So I was surprised he slipped all the way to our pick.

But boy he was involved in a lot of key moments, lowered the eyes perfectly for Allen's goal. Holding the ball tackle on Pickett on the wing. Not afraid to back himself in to go through the middle, although it backfired once kicking across field to Ryan, I'm happy to see someone take the game on like that. Foley likewise although I've noticed he has coughed it up a few times when a bit of the heat was on, overall he looked solid.

Considering we've been plagued by last quarter fadeouts and we came back from 4 goals down with 10 mins to play, against the best team of the past 5 years, that slammed on 7 goals in the last 10 minutes last week. I am impressed.

The old boys have really lifted in recent weeks too. JK was phenomenal, Hurn resolute in defence, Naitanui just dragging everyone along with him. Redden winning the contested ball.

    Hmm seems that way.

I swear at the time, there was rumours/news floating around that Tyson Edwards wasn't happy with the Crows (or something to that effect) and as a result Luke wasn't interested in being drafted by the Crows, which led to them not nominating him as a potential father son selection.

Otherwise I don't understand on what basis the Crows wouldn't nominate him, you're not obliged to match a bid on him.

Crows said they wanted him as a rookie. Edwards said no to that I think is what happened. This was because if he had the Adelaide F/S over his head he wouldnt be picked in the ND so easily etc

It's all to do with infamous Crows camp after the 2017 season - Jackson Edwards (Tyson's eldest son) attended it, the Edwards family had many concerns with certain aspects of that camp, Jackson got delisted after the 2018 season without playing an AFL game.

    Article about it here :-

Not sure I buy the camp being the reason personally. Pretty sure I listened to a podcast with Jackson on it and I think he mentioned at the time that it was pretty hard to get much/any 1 on 1 time with any of the coaches in terms of reviewing footage etc to further help him develop as a player which may have left a bad taste in their mouth. I also think the club has struggled a bit with their relationship with Tyson Edwards as there have been a few things pop up over the years (date it back to the Edwards McLeod days and also when he announced his retirement and Craig wouldn't give him a farewell game before changing his mind). To me, we only selected Jackson because he was a FS, not on his own merits (Ben Jarman probably not much different)as he only lasted the season before he was delisted.

Luke we obviously didn't rate given we didn't nominate him - fair to say not many clubs did given where he slipped in the draft but good on him for having a ripper game on the weekend, hopefully the first of many.

Love that David McKay is now the poster boy for hard ball gets. I think no suspension was the obvious decision.
