Mark Hutchings was on St Kilda's list in 2010, was delisted without playing a game for them. Now one of the best taggers in the game for the premiers.

    Barry Hall

    Ben McEvoy
    Luke Ball
    Brent Guerra
    Daryl??? Wakelin (Port one).
    Bailey Rice's dad, Dean?

    Ian Stewart

Also technically I guess Mark Hutchings would also count from this year or do they have to actually have played for St Kilda?

Yeah Paul Harding is the only one I've heard of that didn't make my list, so I'm alright with that.

Was literally pissing blood in the hospital for 2 days straight

I was curious as to why it wasnt reported by the media. Turns out you actually cannot do so based on AFL media accreditation.

So a journo cant go out and say why a player is in hospital unless the club itself agrees to let it out

Weird rule, but it makes sense when you think about it

Kind of curious to see where the Dom Sheeds goal sits in 10 years time. I'd argue that if it was say Dustin Martin it would be in folklore and still talked about. Because it's Dom Sheed I'd imagine it gets forgotten about pretty quickly

Hard to say, if it was in play I feel like it would have been more of a moment, in before he played on so it should have been comment. Like the Nick Davis goal is so special because it was in play, ditto Leo Barry's mark.

That said, Plugger's point after the siren still lives on and that was a set shot and sure wasn't to win the GF so certainly could hold up.

Sheed's career trajectory could have a lot to do with it. If he were to develop into a really good player then it would be the start of that essentially, if he's a nothing player then it becomes his Sampi mark type moment where you remember them for it but that's it. If he continues down his path of mediocrity I don't actually know but probably the Sampi way I guess.

Nick Davis goal is so good because it was with 4 seconds to go really. Same as Leo Barry, literally marked then siren.

As wogi said I think the sheed hype will go on if he can maintain his second half of 2018 form, otherwise people will just kinda forget.

Maybe my memory was foggy but Nick Davis was a Rather average footballer. Sheed would have to fall a long way to not be a better player then that guy. Davis just played well when it counted at the end and that is why he is remembered

Nick Davis was a throwback footballer. I do wonder if he'd be the guy who embraced the modern game and became a superstar or got spat out of the system before he could even get a game now. He had one phenomenal season where he took the preseason seriously and showed up in shape, basically the same shit, different season as Jetta as a Swan, both even played key roles in us winning flags just for added shits and giggles. But yeah, his complete lack of dedication to fitness stopped him ever really being more than an above average forward flank type.

And yeah, Davis is remembered for that quarter (probably still my favourite AFL moment because that game was complete and utter trash and if I hadn't broken the remote throwing it into the wall in the 3rd quarter would have turned it off, thank god I didn't). Outside that quarter he was more of a let down than anything, still one of the best kicks I've ever seen and had an incredible goal sense but fuck me was he lazy, on field and off field.

To be fair, both the Swans plays were pivotal in us winning a flag that was the drought breaking flag win so they've got that going for them. Sheed's also has that so should be a chance. Again, in play, or as mentioned above, after the siren and I reckon it's a no brainer that it's remembered, I wonder if being a set shot will hold it back or not though.

I also reckon the fact that it shouldn't have even happened will certainly help keep it alive because the Pies fans will bring it up just as often (like Eagles fans do with the holding on the Leo Barry mark for example). As a neutral fan it was certainly play on that didn't get called and it was at absolute best a 50/50 non-call on that shepherd but I'd say that get's called 80% of the time in a normal scenario so he certainly got lucky to have the chance. FWIW if they call play on they've still got a 2 on 1 running at goal from 25 out so they really should have still got the goal.

The other factor is that it was a brilliant team goal, the full 50 seconds from McGovern's mark, to Vardy to Ryan to Sheed and finished was exceptional, McGovern and Ryan's marks for mine were actually considerably better than the goal, is that length of plays too long for the sequence to become the memory which obviously highlights the goal but also relegates it to the series rather than just the goal being the highlight.

I’ve seen the whole play probably over 100 times by now but I still can vividly remember it from my seat and my emotions for each moment.

Thought McGovern should’ve gone wide at the time, and thinking sheed would get called for play on but a quick hands over to willie would’ve resulted in a goal anyway.

Even in the first quarter you can feel the pie choke coming. Should turn it off with 5 mins left in the first quarter really.

I watched the 2015 AFL Grand Final a few times after we lost

I would have watched this one a few times too (not the 20 I would have watched so far, maybe 2 or 3) if we lost too.

Dont see what the big deal is.
