Lock him in. I heard he was going home to be with his preggers wife, so I traded him out of all my fantasy teams. Arrgh. Continues to play on and kill it.

Is the AFL paying for all the non-finals team to stick around in Qld, or are they self funding? Seems like they are all staying up there, which is fairy nuff, but gotta be kidding me if the game is paying

Does it matter who's pocket it comes out of given these clubs are not commercial entities and their entire existence is reliant on VFL hand outs?

In some sense I'd rather the afl paying, would probably hear stories like oh norf blew their budget on air freighting Ben Brown some hair rollers and Ben Cunnington requested some bee hives be sent to his room so it felt more like Arden Street.

Mind you that's not too far off what was happening in the beginning...

Why would non finals teams remain in qld?

Absurd, but wouldn't be surprised if AFL are paying to keep them around for 3 weeks so they can't attend the brownlow or something stupid like that.

Would you go back to Victoria? Ever?

Its paid up til 48 hours after they exit the finals series then they gotta make their own way. North are out of the quarantine camp atm but are going to holiday in QLD under QLDs Covid restrictions it seems before heading back as Id think a few others would be doing. For some reason only North have been reported as doing this

GIANTS defender Zac Williams has informed the club that he wishes to explore his free agency options.

The 26-year old from Narrandera in regional New South Wales has played 113 games for the GIANTS since being elevated from the rookie list in 2013.

The defender has informed the club that his preferred destination is a Victorian club to be closer to his sister who’s based in Albury.

GIANTS General Manager Football Jason McCartney said: “It’s disappointing to receive this news as Zac has come a long way since coming through the GIANTS Academy pathway.

“We understand that free agency is part of the current football landscape and that the players have the right to go down this path.”

Big loss, Carlton & North front runners - some reports he is almost a done deal to Carlton.

Obviously it's the enron supporters getting upset over someone wanting to move closer to home

He not get the memo that no one can leave Victoria so being 2 hours closer aint gonna help!

That's certainly one of the all time worst excuses.

Had the Tippett wanting to return home to Sydney when he was from QLD and Davis a similar thing when he was from Adelaide.

Most the time the go home factor just rustles me. You're either going because you're getting paid more or you hate the club/city you currently live in. I just don't think they need to justify it with a "I want to be closer to my sister who is only a 3.5 hour drive away" kind of thing, expecting us to go "GWS are the devil if they don't let this poor soul go home".

Again, he's out of contract/free agent anyways so you don't need to give us an excuse, just name your city/destination and be done with it.

Have seen that he is quite close to his sister. But lel, seeing as Albury is a 1 hr 15 min flight from Sydney and being in Melbourne cuts that down to 1 hr.

15 minutes saved per flight $200k extra per year or whatever Carlton are offering just a coincidence

when you think these bumbling morons are just about done.... it's like the footy version of fawlty towers. won't play regular games in perth that earn money / in front of crowds, will needlessly go out of their way to move an all victorian final to Adelaide to be played in front of a crowd, and piss everyone off in the process. Integrity!

    https://www.news.com.au/sport/afl/af...74981d942e5905
The AFL has reportedly been forced to delay its official finals series fixture announcement after belittling St Kilda with a brutal dismissal on Monday.

Leaked details surrounding the make-up of the 2020 finals series fixture shows the league is set to ignore St Kilda’s request to play a “home” elimination final in Queensland because it is more lucrative for the league’s coffers if the game is played in Adelaide.

St Kilda’s “home” final against the Western Bulldogs in the first week of the finals was confirmed after the final game of the regular season where Port Adelaide’s win over Collingwood kept the Saints as the No. 6 seed for the finals series.

It was revealed earlier on Monday the AFL is planning on playing two games in the first weekend of the finals in Adelaide — and is prepared to ignore official requests from the Saints to have their wish come true.

According to reports, the AFL was not prepared to make the same move to force St Kilda interstate if powerhouse club Collingwood had jumped up to sixth on the ladder with a win over the Power.
