Yeah fucking fitbit and their shitty bands, have resorted to the fabric one and it is fucking rank. Will upgrade to a Garmin at some point but not at the forefront of things at the moment. Probably need a decent pair of running shoes but want to prove to myself first that this will last longer than two weeks

Yeah my fitbit is shocking, it'll go from like 60 to 150 to 0 as I go between sets.

Feel like they cut back on a heap of stuff on the free version a few months ago.

I started using Runkeeper which wogi mentioned a while back and found it pretty good - can give you intervial updates on a number of stats.

Yes but only the free version.

So it feels like I only have access to 1/10 features

Yeah I think fibit app actually provides more insight

Two more runs under the belt, 8km yesterday at 7:05 and 8km today at 6:47. Today's was fucking painful, copped a massive stitch 5km in and battled all the way to the end. Slowing down has definitely helped improve my distance, probably got a bit keen today and blew up too early.

Took dog for a run, was a short run. 2.6km in 16:36

1st km 7:38 cos dog did 3 shits and a piss
    2nd km 5:33
    Last 600m 3:23 (5:13/km)

Will try timing a longer run over the weekend (without dog)

Edit: just had a better look and strava gives moving time so first km was 5:15 without stopped time. 2nd km was also over Elevation so makes sense why it is a bit slower

Know them feels - I sometimes run with my housemates greyhound and he does the same thing. It's the worse when you start to get into a rhythm and you don't notice that the dog has stopped at the tree.

I've worked out recently that if he wants a break from walking/running he'll just pretend that he needs to do a shit. I get so many death stares when I just walk off afterwards because they think I just left his shit there when he hasn't actually done any.

Yeah my dog is fucked to run with, once he's tired it's much better cos he's busy trying not to die but up until that point it's frustrating.

Cunts fucked after a run though, will legit be panting for an hour post run. Im not sure if he could handle more KMs

When he shits its slamming on the breaks too so really does fuck me up.

Backed up with another 10km run this morning, pace at a better 6:51 per km.

Had to stop partway to let a big fuck off brown snake pass, the final 3km of the run were at 6:20, 6:27 and 6:34

Staffies are great runners, I ride my bike, he comes along with his lead on my bike, takes a little practice, but they soon get the hang of it and he loves it. Slowing down a little at 12 years old however.

Hard to get in the zone is definitely one aspect, but there are other things like no dumbbells (at least for me at this stage) and limited equipment to get the variety I'm after (e.g. a quality cable machine, plate loaded machines). Mindset is probably the main thing, but I guess it has made me think about what I want to achieve from 'fitness' which has sort of made me lean towards running (and hopefully cycling when I get a bike).

Hardest thing with weights is that outside of bodybuilding and powerlifting comps there isn't much else to drive you (oh and aesthetics I guess - but this only lasts so long). I think going forward I want my weightlifting to complement some other fitness endeavour (e.g sports).
