Your mates run poof doof? Are they gay out of interest?

I'm feuding with some Adelaide nuffies about this go go ladyboy rebrand and they've assumed poof doof is owned by gays. I just want to make sure they're correct.

A GIANT water park, replica beachfront sand area and the state’s first indoor wave rider are among the attractions planned for a $10 million Beachouse in Adelaide’s north.

And while the existing Glenelg venue targets children aged from two to 17, the new centre will also focus on young adults, aged from 16 to 30 — and beyond.

Beachouse owner Peter Rimington said his vision was to “bring the beach to the north” through the indoor water-themed play centre.

He said he planned to open the Salisbury South venue several nights a week to allow adults to ride the FlowRider and to relax over a few drinks.

Adelaide’s second Beachouse will form part of the new Kings Point Shopping and Entertainment Complex, planned for the corner of Main North and Kings roads.

It will be among six major entertainment attractions at the $180 million development.

The complex will include a 2500 sq m indoor water playground, replica beachfront sand area, beach volleyball courts.

It will also have four or five “thrill” water slides, a dodgem car track, mini golf, a six-storey play castle, 80 arcade games, and a cafe.

He said the northern suburbs was an ideal location for the business due to its large population.

“The people are out north so we want to take the Beachouse out north, and we think we will absolutely get a good reception out there,” Mr Rimington said.

He said the centre’s major draw card would be the FlowRider — an amusement ride that simulates the experience of riding a wave.

“We are looking at three different types (of FlowRiders) at the moment,” Mr Rimington said.

“We haven’t chosen which one yet, but it will give people the ability to surf indoors with people surrounding them in viewing stands, at the cafe having lunch, or at the bar having a glass of wine, relaxing, watching the kids, or watching their friends.

“Its just awesome ... and it is truly special.”

Mr Rimington said the centre would also open two or three nights a week, attracting “mainly adults” who would be able to ride the FlowRider and have a few drinks by the attraction.

Construction of the 6000 sq m complex is expected to begin within the next six to eight months.

Mr Rimington said it could be complete by 2017, and would employ up to 150 people.

The Kings Point Shopping and Entertainment Complex is being built by Adelaide-based developers Commercial and General.

Planning Minister John Rau approved a plan to rezone the 20ha parcel of land from industrial to commercial in mid-December, to make way for the project.

Commercial and General managing director Jamie McClurg said the company was “still leasing” spaces within the complex, but would not provide any further detail.

The council is waiting for Mr McClurg to lodge his final development application, which will include fitout details for the Beachouse.

The centre will also include an ASX-listed indoor skydiving structure, laser skirmish, tenpin bowling, rock climbing, cinemas, a large indoor trampoline and shopping precinct.

Salisbury Mayor Gillian Aldridge said she hoped the project, which could create up to 1600 jobs for the northern region, would be completed “as soon as possible”.

“I think it’s a very exciting project for our city, I’m really chuffed,” Ms Aldridge said.

“I’d like to see it have that ‘wow’ factor and for it to give our young people something to do.”

I can't see that being viable in the long term.

Not sure you guys are doing as good a job for Adelaide as Red Bear does for Wollongong.

How is there a large enough community in Adelaide for a lady boy nightclub?

It's not a ladyboy nightclub though. It's a nightclub themed like the go go bars in Thailand that often have ladyboys inhabiting them.

Vale. I've had a lot of beers there.

Not sure how it could close. The restaurant part is always packed but I guess the bar side of thkngs has been pretty quiet for years now.

The place has been scraping along by the skin of it's teeth for ages, rent is so high it's pretty much impossible to make money.

Especially with pop up bars stealing their revenue during fringe.

Yeah I always enjoyed a steak there. Would never go there for a night out though
We demand an investigation into the replacement of referee Rafshan Irmatov and his departure at a difficult time in such an important match. We ask for an examination of the grassland that was not suitable for the Syrian team, while Australian players seem to be wearing shoes that cling to the long grass, so we saw Syrian players fall during the game, while Australia's players are steady.

It used to be pretty popular on Thursdays-Saturdays with 18-21s when I first started going out, but that's getting on a decade ago now.

Pretty amazing the number of venues that have either relocated or disappeared totally in Adelaide over the past six months or so.

Thing is with places like London, Mansions and Woolshed is you have to pick your moments.

London's purely for pre drinks, $4 jagerbombs, $3 schooners, $5 spirits or something like that. We went there as a last resort not too long ago. 3am lockout was in ten minutes so we ran down North Terrace, chuffed we made it in only to find out there were a total of ten people in there (five of them being us).

Only been to Mansions two or three times, it's always been pretty chilled. Last time I went was when Tippett was still playing here. We ribbed him a little bit, bit of #banter with ladz, nothing crazy. He laughed it off and even laughed at me when I said I went for the Dogs, nek minnit the door girl it telling us we're better off trying other places because they're really busy. Fuck off m8, it's Adelaide, 10 minute wait and you're in. In reality it was more "okay, thank you bye" and we left.

Everyone knows Woolshed is shit but that's what makes it so fun. If you ever go, it has to be the last place you e d up at. Nothing better than singalongs at 2am or watching the mechanical bull when you've lost all your friends.
