So I applied for some medibank shares and I've read the minimum (2k) will be received in full with a lesser % dropping after that. Anyways, I'm thinking about selling this early as it was capped at a $2 per share and it should start at $2.15 - $2.20 which seems to be hitting well above it's weight for it's 'actual' worth compared to other similar companies. My question is, how on earth do I sell shares given I didn't need to go through a broker to buy these?

Haven't looked too hard into Medibank but my grandfather has purchased some and he reckons it's a hold, and that prices will continue to increase. The fact it was oversubscribed (at least I think it was) is a good sign.

Also dylan123, I think you just register the holdings into your CHESS. You just need the SRN number, the ASX code and the number of shares purchased. But I could be wrong and I have no idea what the lag would be on that.

Everything I've read is that they were meant to be sold between the $1.50-$2 mark ($2 being the max) so I can't see how he could have possibly got them for $1.

Nope seen the email sent to his personal account from e trade. Says confirmed order 2000 @ $1. Reckons only $2000 was debited from trading account too. He has no idea either as he was adamant min price would be 1.50.

dylan123 first step is to sign up (free) to commsec, or similar with whatever bank you are with. You should be able to sort it out pretty easily from in there, or by using them.

Nothing at all really. No news for a long time. Its tanked on a ridiculously low volume, most days theres around 40k shares traded which is nothing. Still a while off production but atm market cap is around 25m which is stupidly low

No, it's the Saudi's flooding the market with oil to get the higher cost producers out of the game.

Price of oil has gone from US$110/bbl (July) hitting low of US$72/bbl over night. 35% decrease in oil price purely driven by supply.

Yeah, but the Saudis were always the number 1 producer. Only in the last year that the US have overtaken them because increases in shale production. US supply has increased massively in the last few years, Saudi's has stayed flat.

The Saudi's are maintaining supply to try and slow down the shale boom, because the US shale producers have breakevens that are anywhere between $50-80/bbl. Saudi Arabia is meant to have a breakeven around $30/bbl, but longer term are meant to have problems balancing government budgets much below $80/bbl. That's why they are getting the pressure from the rest of OPEC, but they have the deepest pockets.

So ye, globally flat economic conditions causing less demand + increase in supply from US. Saudi is just maintaining.
