There's lot of reasons for banks not to pass on cuts anyway. It's not just "being money-grabbing, consumer-hating cunts" as the public seems to think.

Not like the banks are posting record profits though right?

Tend to agree. I am really not all that sure why the RBA cut tbh. For me it is a clear indicator that our economy is completely fucked.

Pound was at 49p to the dollar when I checked earlier

Was planning on returning for uni this year in May/June or come back after summer and start next march but may hold off and try and save up.

If the banks don't pass on interest rate cuts the economy isn't stimulated. Plus they drop deposit rates anyway so they probably maintain their margins

That's half of the problem. The RBA tries to manage inflation, unemployment, consumer confidence and more - but only has one tool to do it with.

Exactly. That's why the banks need to pass it on.

IMO keeping the AUD low was the only reason for the cut.

I think the RBA kinda didn't want the banks to pass on cuts since they have shown so much concern regarding the housing market in the past.

These Medibank shares have risen higher than I expected from the little bit of reading I did before buying them.

Got a feeling I'll eventually forget altogether

Blue chip that has more than doubled in price since I bought it a couple of years ago, and now that $2 a share dividend is coming up again. CBA .

The rest of my shit other than IIN . Wouldn't mind getting some more O&G shares, but I haven't been following anything recently, probably have missed the best opportunities though.

Any fossil fuel companies that I should be looking at?

I feel with everyone getting off there has to be opportunity to get in.

I think the larger players are the ones to go for. Better margins and opportunities to make acquisitions as prices of competitors are down down

Started with the Apple ESPP. We get in at 85% of the lower of the closing or ending date of the period from 1/2 to 31/7.

Saw one other guys e-trader account who had done it for 2 years, and had something like 16k in his. One guy had $2.6k after 6 months just passed, and we figured he contributed something like 1.3k from his paycheck.
