Saudi is trying to hold off the shale boom by a few years knowing that break even on shale by then could be unprofitable plus the cost of infrastructure now going to waste.

Plus trying to fuck Russia over.

Good to see petrol prices have dropped as well. Dat trickle down happening any day now.

Its true that US have increased supply and are now net exporters of gas as a result of the shale boom. But US has been producing shale has for a while now and it hasnt seen Brent prices come off like this.. Saudi's turning up the taps..

Henry Hub trades at huge discount as it has full exposure to american shale gas.

Not sure how gas came into this, but the US aren't a net exporter of gas at the moment. They will be in a couple of years, but not yet. They barely have any LNG refinery capacity so can (mostly) only export natural gas to Canada and Mexico through pipelines. Once a couple of LNG refineries get finished in 2016-17 they will become a net exporter. Can't ship it till then.

That is one of the reason Henry Hub prices are so different from the rest of the world still. Another main one is that most other natural gas supplies, particularly to Asia, are on long-term contracts rather than spot priced (like most Henry Hub gas).

Well here is the 2014 figures....yeah, that massive turn up by those damn Saudis . US production of crude up >10% over the year, Saudi Arabia's is flat.

    Crude oil production, in tb/d.

Forgot to mention during the last discussion, you (or others) may be interested. The US EIA has a article of the day type thing on their website, some of them can be pretty interesting, although can be US centric. Can help keep up to date / learn new things / lead you into other research etc. Today in Energy - U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA)

There was one about a week ago regarding forecasts (good luck) for oil prices: Market expectations of oil price uncertainty have increased in recent months - Today in Energy - U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA)

That's actually a fairly bold move by the RBA to cut rates. That bump makes my shares look a lot better too, for the time being.

Fixed 80% of my home loan for 3 years last month. Got a good deal and still lower than current variable. But further rate reductions will spoil that. Surely rates can't go much lower

Ball So Hard or some other economics bro - what the term for when the RBA tries to influence things with the language they use (rather than direct action)? Like when Glenn Stevens has talked about how dollar should be lower or whatever, but wasn't actually moving on interest rates at the time. There's some term, just can't think of it.

Interest rates are staggering, but fortunately propping up the property market.

If commodity prices fall a bit more and its forecast to be sustained there's going to be serious job cuts happening and the flow on effects will be significant.

Yeah looking at refinancing mine soon as well, who did you go through?
We demand an investigation into the replacement of referee Rafshan Irmatov and his departure at a difficult time in such an important match. We ask for an examination of the grassland that was not suitable for the Syrian team, while Australian players seem to be wearing shoes that cling to the long grass, so we saw Syrian players fall during the game, while Australia's players are steady.
