I commented to my gf that she looks like the grinch. Nose is all fucked up.

I would agree the ending was a bit disappointing but also thought it was a great concept and fairly well executed for the most part. Definitely could've been better but not bad. Is it actually rated highly or has it just had a lot of views?

Her lips look like someone has attached a bike pump and worked on them for a good 35 minutes. Idiot.

Switched off mid-way. Didn't look like it was going anywhere, very poorly set up plot/characters, things didn't make real sense, only 1 bit was humourous. Was dog whistling shit relating to the narrative that Trump is a giant white supremicist which also just put a sour spin on it all that it was a lefty identity politics project.
Holy shit, that's your takeout from a film about a black man who infiltrates the KKK to discredit them?

Bird Box was awful. A Quiet Place was same concept and far better done.

Vice was just the SNL-esque celebrities dressing up as other celebrities putting on funny voices for 2 hours. Just nothing else going on.

He wasn't infiltrating much outside of talking on the phone then doing some hacky "swap places with me" gags with a white guy.

Green Book definitely Best Picture favourite for a reason. Loved it. Great performances from Maharsala Ali and Viggo Mortensen. Good soundtrack too. 10/10.

Watching The Favourite at the moment. I don't get this at all. Aside from the noisy, distracting harpischord soundtrack and people just screaming a lot, there's not much to this. Again, wacky dress ups do not make a film....

Can still get $6+ around for Best Picture, most sites have Roma favourite now over A Star Is Born, then Green Book and Bohemian Rhapsody.

Can't see Roma winning, extremely rare for a foreign film to win. I'd probably lean Green Book (Biased cause I liked it the most of the 3 I've seen)

Saw The Old Man and the Gun last night. The missus' birthday and she likes Robert Redford so.

He's good in it, and Casey Affeck is a billion times more likeable than his cunt brother. Story is faintly ridiculous but it's a film to luxuriate in the actual watching of rather than thinking too deeply about. Period detail on point, even to shooting it as if it was actually being made in 1981, and a couple of nicely inserted Redford shots from other films in flashback scenes which is pretty cheeky.

Also worth it just for Tom Waits's Christmas tree story.

Watched Aquaman while I was in Singapore. It's ok, nothing serious about it and cheesy as fuck but still decent fun plus Amber Heard in a low cut costume is great.

I'd only pay to see it if the cinema has a mint A/V setup and you're really into that aspect of it though, otherwise if you're happy to lose a bit of the A/V element I'd just watch it when it's internetted.

Also watched Searching, it wasn't bad for what was a super low budget (I hope anyway) movie. Few decent twists even if they were mostly pretty easy to pick (been a long time since a movie got me to be honest, I think part of the problem is you go into every movie already knowing there will be twists now instead of watching movies you've never even really heard of before and getting twisted by them.
