Saw Intersteller 7/10 for mine. Story was a bit dogshit at times but visually it was awesome, thought it was a bit overacted at times too.

also saw the ending coming from a mile away

    thought interstella 5555 > intersteller ( flight23)

I went to Broady Cinemas once. I swear there were cumstains on the seats. Never again.

Also I thought Interstellar was good but not fap-worthy.

Usually the time in Nolan's long movies fly by because they are so awesome but this realllly dragged on in parts. The first half hour was good but then found myself bored until

    they went to Mann's planet

    .

Probably a by-product of explaining and stating the bleeding obvious.

Overall, I'd rank this only superior to Insomnia, Following and TDKR of Nolan's movies.

To me the plot was kind of caught between fuck yeah 'murica against all odds and a display of the horrors of war, but the storyline was engaging and I know more about tanks now.

Slightly overrated. it was good don't get me wrong, but some parts were over the top and just shit house. I guess all Quentin's movies can't be as good as Pulp Fiction.

I don't know how you interpreted it as "fuck yeah america" when the only person who was ever actually merciful on screen was the german at the end

Dunno, on one hand the viewer is encouraged to connect with Norman the innocent, wide eyed kid and how he deals with being thrust into the violence and bloodshed, but on the other hand the tank crew massacre hundreds of faceless nazis (considering how fucked Germany were at this stage of the war it'd be safe to assume that most would have been in a similar situation to Norman) that made it feel like a goodies and baddies film.

The connection with the innocent kid is to establish the ways in which soldiers were desensitized to murder. The blood shed of the German's is questioned by Norman's saving grace being at the hands of a fresh eyed German in perhaps the same mental and emotional state that he himself begins the film. The final line "You're a hero... You know that?" is so empty, it's very clearly a depiction of a war which cost the mental states and lives of so many innocents rather than a depiction of a glorious American victory.

A refreshing change from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Different from the rest of the superhero movies that have come before it. Very light hearted and a really cool soundtrack. Very enjoyable film. lol'd hard at Batista's character too.

For all the quality films that are being released over the next two months, the movie I am now anticipating the most is Dumb and Dumber 2.

Judge me all you want, but with the original duo this has potential.

    Really hope it's good.

Hah in hindsight I should have left some time for the film to sink in before posting my thoughts. Of course that's right, I can't recall the exact line but it was something like "before it ends, a lot more need to die" explains the explicit message of the film.

In defence of the point I made, in watching it I felt that a few scenes diminished from that message, namely the "shoot the dead bodies" part of the first battle scene and the suicidal mission to stay behind to wipe out half of the SS troops rather than leave.

It's likely to be due to my minimal exposure to war films, but I felt that the bloodshed and violence in those scenes was really rammed home. Obviously it's a film by americans, about americans and probably for americans, but like I said I felt conflicted in that the in those scenes like I was barracking for one side, hoping they could gun down as many nazi's as possible in order to survive. Yet in the aftermath, particularly that final shot showing the bodies strewn around the tank, the interpretation was clearly along the lines of 'regardless of which side they were on, the amount of innocent people being told to do unspeakably horrific actions in order to survive and dying in the process was unfathomable'. I dunno, a war movie obviously needs to have fighting in it, it's just my opinion but I'd say that by killing less nazi's, and going into further detail of scenes like Brad Pitt's character's few moments of weakness (which never really were explained) and the German elite killing themselves in that town, the film's message would have been stronger.

Pretty interesting that all the tanks were real and borrowed from museums/private collections.

The girl with the dragon Tattoo, 2011 Daniel Craig film, loved it. 9.5/10.

Who doesn't love a bisexual chick on screen?

Buying the 2009 film tomorrow. Are the books worth a read? I'm guessing so.
