Tiger king didn't appeal to me mostly because it looked like a profile pic of a men's rights activist but I guess that's kind of the point. Will check it out.

The "guru" guy doesn't have nearly as much footage of him, he's basically allowed controlled interviews and scenes and that's it. It's only the meth head who does that shit.

Reading up on it they were shooting for 5 years but they also bought all of his hard drives with all the film and other information on it after he went to jail, so basically all his private footage, emails, etc. So a lot of those videos would be the "private" videos.
The fact they throw in a "dude films everything" at the start got me on edge. I too think it's a bit off and I've only watched two episodes.

I mean he clearly does though, he's got his TV show which he's always filming for. Both the doco makers and the guy who wanted to make the reality show mention that they would be filming him filming himself all the time.
