Basically use it to track all the monsters moves, damage, rolls, elements on a laptop. Can't begin to imagine how much shit would be going on without it, would be painful. Board is already full on without that.

I played a new game last night called Blood Rage which was pretty fun. I'd say it's a combination of Catan and 7 Wonders in terms of strategy. We had 8 people so we split into teams of 2 and my head was spinning - I need to see games played rather then have the rules told to me, just doesn't stick. Was super fun though, trying to get our strategy was hard enough let alone keeping an eye on what your competition is doing to try clock block them somewhat - Catan in a sense. Reason I say it is also like 7 wonders is because everyone starts with either 7 or 9 cards, select one then pass it to the left so you obviously want to get stuff that suits your needs, pass on stuff that might come around and keep in mind what you pass as others will likely play it (can't see the cards chosen until they're played).

If you know your Vikings gods and stuff, will probably enjoy it more - I know very little but it's still pretty cool.

Taboo is a brilliant game when you have people over. Recent release of "Taboo: Up Late" is fucking unreal as well especially after a cutla drinks. Boys v. Girls at a party with partners makes it interesting as well.
We demand an investigation into the replacement of referee Rafshan Irmatov and his departure at a difficult time in such an important match. We ask for an examination of the grassland that was not suitable for the Syrian team, while Australian players seem to be wearing shoes that cling to the long grass, so we saw Syrian players fall during the game, while Australia's players are steady.

Yep but it's not free, it's on steam. Might be worth waiting for it when it's on sale.

Pretty much has every board game avaible as the community creates them for free and you just download.

Was looking to get Ticket to Ride but there are so many different versions of it, any recommendations?

I think Ticket to Ride: Europe is probably the best version to get

Europe is really solid. The original is also good.

It's a solid game, only knock is the replayability is a bit low if you play with the same people. The positive is it becomes a more clinty game in that scenario as everyone will start blocking others when they know what they're doing, often out of spite. One of the best parts is it's quick because there is no trading so basically if you play with the kind of peanuts who take forever trying to trade rape everyone before doing nothing, they just have to pass onto the next turn.

Haven't been playing that much lately, getting harder and harder to arrange anything with our group which is pretty

Picked up One Night Ultimate Werewolf which is along the same lines as Mafia. Plan on playing it first week of Jan, had a quick look over the rules and I do like that you can put in/remove roles though to mix it. It looks like a pretty chaotic game which should be great, hopefully it plays well with my group although I still find it hard to imagine it topping Secret Hitler.

Also have table top simulator if we were to ever try play something online, I've only tried it with one game and find it a bit hard but it's a complex game so hopefully others run a little smoother on it.

Played One Night Ultimate Werewolf with 5 of my friends tonight, played really really well.

We must have played about 10-15 games of it and I feel like we could have kept going for another 30min easily.

Just one night phase where all the moves happen (in turn), using the app to call them out which also has a 5 minute countdown so it really pushes the discussion quickly before it's time to choose - which is one of the downfalls I've had for Mafia (not that there's anything stopping you from adding that though).

There are 12 different roles and you can really mix/match to whatever works for your group so every few games we'd try substitute a role in/out. Started with 3 villager roles which is the townie equivalent in Mafia but we got to the point where we removed all 3 of those for additional roles so no matter what you got, you'd have some extra role which helps make it a bit more exciting compared to just being 'townie' all the time. Roles where you can swap your card with someone (robber) and see what you get, one where you can swap two other players without getting to see (troublemaker), one where you get to see either one players card or two cards in the middle (which there are 3 which also adds to the game by not being able to be 100% certain what's in the field) etc. All these roles mean by playing too strongly on the good/bad side might go against you if someone else has swapped your card without you knowing and you're all of a sudden a werewolf whilst you've basically deducted every other role.

I had a round as a werewolf where I found out my card got swapped so I spoke up feeling like I had the win but I then found out afterwards that the troublemaker had also happen to swap my card with the same person so I got the werewolf back - so I'd shot myself in the foot and was easily outed.

I didn't expect this was going to be near the level of Secret Hitler which I think is great but this far exceeded my expectations. Probably got my values worth from that one play alone so 10/10 would recommend.

    Edit -

Thinking I might try introduce either this or Secret Hitler (inb4 someone cracks the sads at the name) at work as there's a day we get off 30min early for 'wellness' to play sport etc so should be perfect one day.

Been spending a bit more time looking at games in general just to see what catches the eye, just ordered one called Dice Throne. 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 game where 1v1 plays the best although you could easy have 3 lots of 1v1 going for a bigger group. Quickish game where you pick your character, have some set moves where you roll the dice up to 3 times to try get a combo to attack. The other person has a roll for defence to negate or return damage. There are cards to purchase to upgrade your moves. Kind of reminds me of a King of Tokyo game which I enjoy, I suppose it can be annoying when you're relying on dice rolls but when you get the re-rolls I think it gives you a decent chance (something I hate about Catan for example where you can just be super unlucky).

Hopefully I get it in the next couple of weeks, would like to give it a crack. But I legit love these social deduction games so hoping I can maybe get some work colleges playing it as I've only really got 1 reliable mate at the moment that will commit.
