    dat pakistan form

Since losing 2/7 in the third over of the first test, pakistan have made 2337/24 (including 13 100s) and have taken 1462/58, and are one innings away from equalling the record for the most consecutive innings declared (currently 5, record is 6).

They're in some serious form, but we'd roll them for 11 out here.

Didn't carry his bat, so pretty disappointing innings. 200 seemed like an unbreakable barrier a few years ago...in4 a 300 in a ODI.

The hitting was insane. I didn't even think the bowling was that bad either. Sharma just entered fucking god mode after making 50.

Can someone please confirm what Michael Clarke is on a year? I heard the rumour it was something like 5.6 million. Surely not?

Wouldn't surprise if his total income was that high, between central contract, loadings for captaincy and different match payments, various endorsements etc.

This is from last years figures:
Cricketers top rich list | cricket.com.au
Shane Watson ($6 million in gross earnings) is the highest earning cricket payer, followed by Australian captain Michael Clarke ($5.5 million). Also featuring in the list are David Warner ($3.8 million), David Hussey ($2.0 million), who had both a CA and IPL contract in 2013, retired Test captain Ricky Ponting ($2.0m), current Australian players Brad Haddin ($1.8 million), Glenn Maxwell ($1.8 million) and Cameron White ($1.5 million).
Another article said $2.5m of Clarke's was directly from Cricket Australia

Ye he gets north of 2mil from CA, I'd imagine Spartan pay him a truckload too plus other deals. Rebel Sport is another one off the top of my head. Reckon he'd clear 5m a year easy.

CHRIS Hartley is the best of Australia's Test wicketkeeping prospects if Brad Haddin is not fit for the Gabba Test.

That's the view of former Queensland wicketkeeper and Ashes tourist Ray Phillips, the man who plucked Hartley from club cricket to make his Queensland debut in 2003.

Phillips, who toured England with the 1985 Ashes team, was Queensland chairman of selectors when Hartley replaced Wade Seccombe as Queensland 'keeper.

Phillips has since seen more of Australia's wicketkeepers than just about anyone in his role as a Sheffield Shield commentator for ABC radio.

He points to the fact the Test 'keeping candidates — Hartley, Peter Nevill (NSW), Matthew Wade (Vic), Sam Whiteman (WA) and Tim Paine (Tas) — average between 32 and 40 with the bat in first-class cricket.

“I think their batting really cancels each other out. You'd be happy with any of their batting averages at No. 7 in Test cricket,” Phillips said.

“Therefore, you simply have to pick the best wicketkeeper.

“If Haddin is not playing for the first Test, they should pick Hartley because in my opinion he is the best 'keeper going around.

“Nevill is also a very good keeper but I think Hartley edges him out.”

Haddin's first Test prospects are improving but Hartley is ready to pounce if he struggles with fitness this summer.

The Queenslander has had a strong start to the season but didn't have the Test audition he would have liked yesterday as he fell for a second-ball duck to NSW paceman Sean Abbott at the Gabba.

However rival keeper Nevill didn't fare much better when he was bowled for 18.

Hartley (currently aged 32 years and 178 days) would be the oldest Australian to receive a baggy green cap since Bryce McGain in South Africa in 2009 when the leg-spinner was six days shy of his 37th birthday.

The pint-sized Queenslander has been in some of the form of his life and Phillips believes he would be a perfect fit at Test level.

“In more than 10 years of watching Harts, I could count on one hand the catches he has dropped,” Phillips said.

“I have watched him closely ever since he started playing and he rarely — if ever — makes a mistake.”

Sri Lanka Cricket News: Kumar Sangakkara asked to delay Test retirement | ESPN Cricinfo

Reports Sangakkara was to retire from all forms of cricket after the world cup, although is now considering staying on as a test batsmen. I hope so, pure class with the bat.

Yep. Beer is planning on moving back to Victoria next year so this is the start of that.

Perth have also signed Carberry. What a marquee signing

Has anyone been watching the Fox Sports News coverage of the death of Hughes, and reaction from around the cricketing landscape?

Has anyone seen the interview with Gillespie? He is only 39 and has grey hair everywhere

Random post, but just shocked to see Dizzy mullet-less and with grey hair.
