Hit him on the full which means the ball must be treated as going straight on its path. In that regard, it's missing off.

Im not sure myself. I think it is one of those things where I was born with a crop of awesome and then I have kind of watered the gardens, tended to the farm and created this farmable mass of fantastic brilliance. I have so much to give and share out but just not enough hours in the day to give it all out.

I thought it would make sense to speak to the individual so they know what they need to work on to push for selection again.

Isn't that just as simple as make big runs if you're a batsman or take wickets if you're a bowler? If you do these things and aren't selected you've burnt bridges.

If you're watching Fox it hasn't been shown.

You honestly think that's an acceptable level of feedback in professional sports?

I'm not sure what a phone call stating these things actually achieves?

Clearly articulates where the selectors think the players deficiencies are so they can work on those specific areas in training and first class matches.

That's all well and good but selectors don't attend first class games so if player x gets dropped 7 times on the way to a hundred all they're seeing is the scorecard and the end of days play.

Says a lot about the professionalism and conscientiousness of our selectors then doesn't it?

This was one of the reasons Cowan (and whoever else) was advocating for a former international Australian (names mentioned were Bailey and Cam White) player, still playing first class to have a selectors place as they live eat and breathe first class games. This is something England have used to great effect

First class cricket is way more respected in England and that's a huge issue australia need to address.

In terms of actual selectors, I'll retrospectively cut them some slack for odd selections over the past few years, I can't recall where exactly I read this (I think it was Steve Smith's Men, Histrionics may be able to confirm/ deny) but Pat Howard was presenting them with a list of players they could select from, which is obviously retarded.

There is no doubt Hohns and Chappell are dinosaurs who sway left and right on a moments notice, and I'd really be in favour of splitting selection groups amongst the formats, even if it's as simple as a red ball panel and a white ball panel. I'd also like to go back to the days of a panel member explaining squads, and not Tim Paine. Mainly because he has enough on his plate as it is but given he has such very little input, we're all aware the words coming out of his mouth are basically white noise.

The thing that'd make me wary of having current domestic stalwarts (such as White or Bailey) is simply the fact that state teams are rewarded based on how many national players they churn out, and the potential for bias is astronomical, especially in the case of Cam White.

They placed a specific caveat on the current player not giving insight into their own team mates

Reason I say that is I'd probably have turned off if moguls legend dirk Nannes was giving an opinion on cricket.

How is everyone lining up against Sri Lanka? Opening with Khawaja or shifting him back down the three? Bar set low but really the only two that I think are safe from the current top six are Harris and Trav Head. Will attach shield runs below.
