Coach Justin Langer says Mitchell Marsh is an "attractive commodity" for the Boxing Day Test on a pitch that has a history of pushing the endurance of bowling attacks to the limit.
The Australians are yet to make a decision between Marsh and batsman Peter Handscomb for the third Domain Test against India, but Langer gave the allrounder a strong endorsement on Monday after the WA captain was dropped for the opening two Tests of the series.

Who are you selecting at 6 if not Marsh? Keep in mind they'll need to bowl some overs and probably be right handed as we have lefties from 2 to 5 already and Ashwin will return.

Im not sure myself. I think it is one of those things where I was born with a crop of awesome and then I have kind of watered the gardens, tended to the farm and created this farmable mass of fantastic brilliance. I have so much to give and share out but just not enough hours in the day to give it all out.

India have dropped both openers, Argawal is debuting and Rohit Shitma is back in. Jadeja to play with Ashwin not deemed fit.

Mitch Marsh confirmed in for Pleb Handscomb.

Surely there's some other 6 man in the country given neither of these two do much? May as well just bring another full time bowler given they make the same scores as our batters.

It was the uneven bounce that did Perth in. It didn't lose any points though so NBD.

It doesn't matter how you pass, as long as you get a pass.

Well, the big talk is that it would have been Stoinis, but given he tore his ankle up 9 or 10 days ago and has just returning to bowling in the BBL now, that's been put on hold. For reference, his shield batting average is close to identical to Mitch's and his bowling average is 8 or 9 runs worse per wicket. Batting average over the last two seasons is 24 from memory. Might be giving him a run or two extra - can't recall the exact number.

Really the only other candidate that springs to mind is Cartwright, and while I rate him highly overall his shield season has been really really bad since he moved to three for WA.

At least there is a little bit more grass on the wicket than previous years. Be positive. Of course bowling pies all morning will not help.

"Dave (Warner) suggested to me to carry the action out on the ball given the situation we were in the game and I didn't know any better," Bancroft told Gilchrist. "I didn't know any better because I just wanted to fit in and feel valued really. As simple as that.
"The decision was based around my values, what I valued at the time, and I valued fitting in … you hope that fitting in earns you respect and with that, I guess, there came a pretty big cost for the mistake."

Fuck Warner, hope he never plays for Australia again.

Looking forward to the Boxing day test in Perth next year.

MCG and the MCC needs to be sidelined for a year. shocking for years. Doubt the $CC will give the pitch a fail though. CA will be getting that envelope ready.

Bancroft interview on Fox confirming once and for all Dave Warner requested he use sandpaper on the ball.

Hopefully that's the final nail in the coffin for the mutt. Not only does it paint him in a terrible light for asking, but it means Davey was the one doing it for God knows how long.

I wonder if Warner will come out swinging to defend himself. Cause, both Smith and Cam have thrown him under the bus now.

There is probably more to the story, but who cares. Fuck Warner.
